Connecticut Governor Says Its Time to Legalize IT

Last week, Connecticut governor Dannel Malloy said, “Let’s accept reality”. The Governor wants to do what the good Governator just did for Californians, that is change possession of anything less than an ounce of weed to an infraction, instead of a crime.... or decriminalization. The Governor believes that the existing laws are somewhat racist, with major flaws in enforcing the immoral laws.

The public hearing on Legalizing Marijuana in Connecticut will be held tomorrow (Monday, March 14, 2011). Good luck to our friends in Connecticut.

A Better Way Foundation - MEETING January 19, 2011

A Better Way Foundation - CT will be convening a meeting on January 19, 2011 from 6pm-7:30, 127 Martin Street, Hartford to discuss primarily the 2011 medical marijuana campaign but also collaborative efforts for all drug policy efforts this legislative session. You are invited to attend this meeting and please bring with you any information that would be helpful in developing a collaborative and comprehensive campaign for the year.

New Haven Connecticut Rally to End Marijuana Prohibition December 19

HEMPCT.ORG is now a non profit organization in Connecticut. On December 19th (2 - 5 PM) hey are holding a rally in New Haven on the beautiful green. Sign Up HERE!

It also happens to be national "LEGALIZE IT!" food drive day. Therefore, they will be working with Strangers Helping Strangers again, hosting a drive.

We are in the process of organizing many fundraisers, (one of which is a PENGUIN PLUNGE) and are trying to get Inmates (past and prest) as well as patients in need of MMJ who would allow us to use their name (inmate number) on the back of sweatshirts for each "penguin"

We feel that having a specific person who is willing to share their story to the uneducated or ignorant would benefit in our efforts for decrim, medicinal etc. 

Next meeting is Thursday, September 2, 2010 at 6:00 pm. To be held at the Hartford Public Library; 500 Main Street.

Strangers Helping Strangers in Massachusetts

Congratulations to all the members of The Light of Day for collecting the largest amount of food donations to the Strangers Helping Strangers food drive at the StrangeCreek 2010 Festival in Greenfield, Massachusetts.

Collections were picked up throughout Connecticut and delivered. 

Great Job to all who donated, collected and for spreading the word. The Tickets won from their efforts are being regifted. One to NY Patients First for a postcard collection and to be announced for Connecticut.
