The Rally to Restore Sanity and The March to Keep Fear Alive

Yesterday I guessed, wrongly, that Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert would have a rally in New York City's Central Park. Last night we all found out that was false, but they will be having their separate rallies, in the same place - The Washington DC National Mall.  Jon Stewart's Rally is called the Rally to Restore Sanity - and Colbert's Rally is called the March to Keep Fear Alive. We will be there, you should be there too. October 30, 2010

Republican Douche from Utah wants to Restrict DC Residents Freedom

Jason Chaffetz is one of the squirrely little Republican Douche-bag House Reps trying to stop the District of Columbia's, already city-approved Medical marijuana legislation. The other Douche Republican Rep is Jim Jordon from Ohio. DC Residents need not worry. These eager beavers are just trying to establish a name for themselves amongst their mindless Puritanical base.

Washington DC Passes Medical Marijuana

Washington DC | R U 4RealDough?! Yes, we are for real though! - And they did it on 4/20 April 20th no less. Although I guess DC can't exactly be the 15th "state" to legalize medicinal marijuana, it is a district of decent size that has officially legalized medicinal marijuana. Good for them... But....
They have quite a few shi**y or misguided restrictions:
  1. State Grown Weed
  2. State Run Dispensaries (5 of them at first - possibly 8 total)
  3. Only chronic and lasting diseases qualify for MMJ use.
Although the bill passed unanimously twice, everyone seems to think this initial bill is a sh*t sandwich. But it's a sh*t sandwich we all have to swallow before we can get marijuana, and all other "drugs" legalized outright. They've been putting innocents in jail for years using their nasty little laws and legal loopholing. Well, looks like the Marijuana movement has figured out how to use the same laws and legal loopholing techniques to turn the issue of Marijuana on its head. We can be as sneaky and underhanded as them. Get MMJ legal in your state any way you possibly can... then turn that sh*t sandwich in to outright legalization within 10 years. We may not even have to wait that long. WHEN California legalizes marijuana, most of the country will follow when they see the amount of money and small business, marijuana generates in California.

No Debate for 5 New MMJ Dispensaries in Washington DC

From the Washington Post | In a PRELIMINARY vote, without debate, the Washington DC council authorized five medical marijuana distribution centers throughout the city, a number that could grow to eight in coming years. A patient who has HIV, glaucoma, cancer or a "chronic and lasting disease" will be able to receive a doctor's recommendation to possess up to 2 ounces of marijuana in a 30-day period.

Patients would not be allowed to grow marijuana but could buy it from dispensaries that are licensed and regulated by the Department of Health. Underprivileged residents who qualify will be eligible to purchase their drugs free or at reduced cost.

They will need to vote again later this month and dispensaries probably wouldn't be operational for at least 6 months...

Washington DC Medical Marijuana

Marijuana Washington DC
IN 1998, 69 PERCENT of D.C. voters endorsed the medicinal use of marijuana for those suffering from serious illnesses. Nothing came of the initiative because Congress immediately prohibited the use of local funds to support the program. The ban was lifted last year, and the 11-year lag has actually proved to be something of a blessing, because the District is crafting legislation based on lessons learned from the experience -- and mistakes -- of other states. Read Whole Story Here.

The mistakes they are speaking of? Mostly being too loose in the rules department. They cant introduce it by including back pain as a reason to qualify for Medical Marijuana. You must not draw the attention of jackass congressmen. No, you have to ease it in there and once it's a little bit legal, it can become a lotta bit legal later. Big Picture my babies.
