Attack of the 50 ft Medical Marijuana Monster
Last night I was awakened by panic shrieked screams, yelping animals and a tumultuous uproar that shot terror from my puckered sphincter to the top of my head leaving every hair standing like Alfalfas's cow-lick. As i peered into the darkness i could see thousands fleeing on foot from some indiscernible silhouette moving through the night in a thunderous rhythm, every percussion quaking the earth. As the crowd approached I began to discern the cries, "RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!" and "IT WILL DEVOUR YOUR CHILDREN, DESTROY OUR HOMES AND ALL SOCIETY!" or "IT COMES FROM THE GATEWAY TO HELL!" When the light of the full moon finally pulled the beast's features from the shadows it revealed a 50 foot Medical Marijuana Monster moving in might through the bleakness of the night. I confess the fear i had for a moment but before i could turn to gather my wife and kids for a hasty exodus, i saw a crippled old woman fall to the earth almost trampled by the fleeing hordes. The marijuana monster stopped and grabbed the woman in a swift stroke. I sat paralyzed staring in anticipation for the moment that the poor arthritic woman would be devoured. A strange thing happened. The beast, with the crippled woman in his hand, stooped to his hunches and began to cry. Then he released a deep breath of billowing fluff and they were both, for a moment, engulfed in a white cloud. when the 2 figures emerged from the thick fog i saw the little old lady standing on her own 2 feet. The great behemoth patted her on the head compassionately and the woman walked a way with but a slight limp. You see it wasn't a viscous monster at all. I sat with that monster a bit later. He was quite wise. He explained that he had come in peace but the fear of the unknown and the demonized always sent the fools fleeing in terror or into battle armed with torches and pitchforks. He pursued the crowds knowing that the poor, the sick and the meek would be trampled, and left behind. Within his puffy white cloud those left behind saw the beast in a different light. He explained that if more people saw him from within the cloud, not only would we fear him less, but we could learn to love each other more...At that moment i shook and sat upright in my bed. What a curious dream i had had. I only wish i had a moment more within that fluffy white blanket, where all is revealed in abstract and the man returns to the innocence of infancy.
