Marijuana is for Kids...legal weed in public schools
With the continuing expansion of the movement to legalize weed legal marijuana is now showing up at school. Many support medicinal marijuana but the controversy stemming from this trend is off-putting. The center of the controversy lies not in those kids with extreme anxiety or mild autism that can benefit from the proper medicinal use of the herbal remedy but those students who have by such means found a way to mitigate culpability for the distribution of the drug for recreational purposes. the Christian Right argues that Medical Marijuana simply provides another way for kids to get their hands on a dangerous substance comparing it to Ritalin or Oxycontin, two highly addictive prescription drugs that have found their way to a massive youth market. On the other side of the issue are those few and wise that will confess that their druthers would have their children smoking a little pot verses the latter options any day. Anyone who compares marijuana to the dangers of drugs like Ritalin or Oxycontin needs little "reason" to promulgate fear and controversy. More here.
