Connecticut Governor Says Its Time to Legalize Marijuana

Connecticut Governor Says Its Time to Legalize IT

Last week, Connecticut governor Dannel Malloy said, “Let’s accept reality”. The Governor wants to do what the good Governator just did for Californians, that is change possession of anything less than an ounce of weed to an infraction, instead of a crime.... or decriminalization. The Governor believes that the existing laws are somewhat racist, with major flaws in enforcing the immoral laws.

The public hearing on Legalizing Marijuana in Connecticut will be held tomorrow (Monday, March 14, 2011). Good luck to our friends in Connecticut.

Measure M Passes in Los Angeles

Measure M passes in Los Angeles | Collectives/Dispensaries Angry - Why? Because they're out $50 for every $1000 they "raise" - Who will pay for this in the end? Collectives and Dispensaries?? Nope, the answer is You, Medical Marijuana Patients of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles, California - Local Lawmakers had been doing their level best to make life more difficult for their fellow Angelinos by trying to axe 439 MMJ Dispensaries/Collectives from the Los Angeles area. After multiple powerful lawsuits from MMJ advocacy groups, lawmakers have backed down and settled on taxing the Medical Marijuana Collectives/Dispensaries. We're guessing this is probably what they had in mind in the first place. Demand everything and settle for lots of cash in the end.

On Tuesday, (03/08/2011), the city voted to approve Measure M, which allows the city to collect $50 out of every $1000 the Dispensaries/Collectives "raise" from selling Medical Marijuana. Los Angeles area Collectives/Dispensaries already lobby and actively support keeping marijuana halfway illegal and 80% more expensive than it should be. Then the local Los Angeles Government gets involved and messes with the Collectives/Dispensaries profits.. It's a pretty big pile of money for the city... but again, the consumer will be the one that eventually gets punched in the stomach. This Measure will force many Los Angeles taxpayers to pay more for their medicine while their pay and opportunity are still decreasing.

Buying Marijuana Supports Terrorism

Buying Marijuana Supports Terrorism

Many ignorant rumors spread like fire after 9/11, but the following will have stuck with you if you are a pro marijuana advocate/user:
  • "Anyone who buys or sells marijuana or other illegal drugs are actively supporting worldwide terrorism."
The boneheaded or possibly insidious rationale was that terrorists sell drugs to fund their dirty deeds. Why is that faulty logic?
  • The act of driving an in-demand product, like marijuana, in to the black market is the actual reason terrorists are able to sell it to make money. If the drugs weren't illegal, the terrorists wouldn't be able to sell drugs to fund their operations. American Businessmen instead would be making the money from selling an American grown product. And finally, the American People would receive a "new" taxable resource, from an already incredibly popular product.
If Corn was made illegal today, the Terrorists would be making money from "moving" corn on the black market tomorrow.
